Michael Callan, 59, passed away on March 1, 2024, at the age of 59. In the days before his death, he was cared for and surrounded by his loving family. His spirit lives on with his two children, Brittany and Ryan. He is also survived by his siblings (Maureen (Rick) King, Karen (Greg) Stoiber, Kevin (Bonnie), Cindy (John) Knierim, Timothy (Connie), Christine (Jon) Bruns).

In the last years of Mike’s life, he loved living in North Carolina, where he went on long walks along Lake Norman, enjoyed grilling food, and constantly bragged about the nice weather. He was fond of traveling to mountains and waterfalls.

Mike graduated from Dominican High School before briefly attending Cardinal Stritch University, where he played basketball. He worked as a stockbroker and famously left pieces of paper with scrawled stock tickers around the house. Mike spent 30 years married to Linda. Although the marriage wasn’t permanent, they adoringly raised two children together, and remained in touch afterward.

Mike enjoyed following sports, including those of his children. He liked the sunshine, gardening, golfing, country music, the Rocky movies, sporty cars, and spicy food. He had a great sense of humor, although some of his jokes fell flat (“who’s the greatest and why am I?”). Mike believed in following his dreams. He was a source of positivity and was known for sending out text messages with pictures of suns, flowers, and dolphins.

Visitation will be held on April 6, 2024 at St. Bernadette Parish, 8200 W Denver Ave, Milwaukee, WI, at 10 a.m. until the time of Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. A reception will follow.
