Ronnie Leon "Cornbread" Ruth

January 15, 1971 - November 19, 2024

Born January 15th, 1971 to Herbert and Shirley Ruth. Ronnie grew up in the Hidden Valley Community of Charlotte, NC attending Myers Park High School and graduating from Central Piedmont Community College. He was a Jack of all Trades and an avid reader. He worked as a construction contractor with emphasis on brick masonry and floor tiling often constructing decks and outbuildings from the ground up. He loved music, cooking, sports, Charlotte Hornets, Carolina Tar heels,and gardening. Often he deejayed and cooked for community events.

Leon had an affinity for science,continually learning how to respect and use the elements.He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father Herbert H Ruth, Sr., his son Malcolm P Ruth,his brother, Herbert H Ruth. Jr. and his God Sister Tamera Caldwell

He leaves to cherish his memory, his mother and stepfather, Shirley and James Williams. Daughter Crystal L Ruth; Son, Michael P Ruth and their mother Sonja Suddreth all of Charlotte NC; 2 brothers. James (Janelle) Williams, and Joshua Williams both of Charlotte. NC, Grandchildren: Layla Washington. An’yah Forte, Mahlani Ruth, and LJ Montgomery, all of Charlotte NC; 

Sister, Tomonaka Haywood of Charlotte NC; 1 Uncle, ThomasCaroline) Sadler; 2 aunts, Thomasena and Mae Cynthia Glover. both of Charlotte, NC: Nieces. Savannah Williams, Joshlyn Williams and Talaiya Haywood all of Charlotte NC; Nephew Za’Breon Wright of Charlotte NC, 3 God -Sisters, Celestine Brown of Marion NC., Stephanie Carson of Valdese, NC, and Sharana Caldwell of Statesville NC. 1 Step-brother,3 Step-sisters and a host of nieces , nephews. cousins, and friends. We thank God for allowing us to share the light of Ronnie Leon (Cornbread) Ruth for 53 years.

Homegoing Service to Celebrate the Life of Ronnie will be held on Saturday, November 30, 2024, 12 PM visitation and 1 PM Funeral Service at New Waves of Joy Baptist Church 4739 E. W.T. HARRIS BLVD. CHARLOTTE, NC 28213.
