Madge Merinda Grant, 56 passed away Monday, March 24, 2025.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved sister, wife, daughter and aunt, Madge Merinda Arrowood Grant, who left us peacefully at the age of 56 on March 24, 2025. Merinda was born on September 14, 1968, and she spent her life embracing the joy of singing, dancing, and most importantly, her deep love for God.

Merinda dedicated her life to bringing beauty into the lives of others. A talented hairstylist, she spent many years doing hair both from her home and at Christy's Salon in Shelby, NC, where she formed lasting relationships with her clients. Merinda's nurturing and kind spirit extended to everyone she met. She was a loving wife to her cherished husband, Odell William Grant Jr., with whom she shared countless beautiful moments. Her love for Odell “Junior” was unwavering, and together they created a life full of love, laughter, and support.

Her family was her greatest treasure. Merinda adored spending time with her nephews and nieces, and she embraced each of them with open arms and a full heart. Her laughter, encouragement, and wisdom will be dearly missed by all who were fortunate to know her.

Merinda’s love for music was evident in her involvement with the Hickory Chorale Society, where she shared her gift of song with others. Her voice brought comfort and joy to those around her, and her passion for singing will be remembered by those who heard her beautiful melodies.

Preceded in death by grandmother Madge Arrowood, father Talmadge Sullens, and son Ethan Grant. Survived by  husband Odell William Grant Jr, mother Lana Arrowood Ramsey, brothers Jeffrey Arrowood and Timmy Sullens and kids (Bryant and Karen), sisters Jennifer  Stanley (Shane) and kids (Aaron, Ryan, and Alyssa),  Donna Schronce and kids (Dylan, Trevor and Dalton), sisters-in-law Ann Lankford and kids (Laura, Lucas, Jeremy, Lily, and Sarah), Jeannie  Santos (Fernando), Cynthia Clatterbuck and kids (Casey and Chad) and brother-in-law Lloyd Grant (Georgeann) and kids (Danille, Amber, and Brandon).

The family will do a celebration of life on 3/27/2025 at 12:00. Location will be New Life Baptist Church 614 S 11th St., Bessemer City, NC 28016.

The Grant Family have entrusted arrangements to Roseboro's Mortuary & Crematory.
