Kings Mountain, North Carolina
June 26, 1944 - December 23, 2025
Lana Ramsey, 81, passed on Tuesday, December 23, 2025.
Lana Arrowood Ramsey, 81, of Kings Mountain, NC, passed away on December 23 at her home, in Kings Mountain. Born on June 26, 1944, she was the beloved daughter of the late Lafayette “Fate” and Madge Hardin Arrowood. She was preceded in death by her sister, Tillie Elizabeth Arrowood, and her daughter, Merinda Arrowood Grant. Lana was a former attendee of Anew Beginning Baptist Church in Blacksburg, SC.
Lana’s life was real, complex, and deeply human. Like many mothers and children, our relationship had its challenges, yet it was anchored in a love that never faded. She was our mother, and we loved her in that profound, indescribable way that only children can love the woman who gave them life.
She was known for her stubborn spirit, her determination, and resilience that carried her through difficult times. Lana found joy in the simple things—attending church, working hard, cheering for her favorite football teams, and listening to country and gospel music that spoke to her heart. She retired from Polygram in Grover, NC, and later continued working part-time at Ingles Deli in Kings Mountain until her health no longer allowed.
Her greatest joy came from her grandchildren. Around them, she softened; they brought out a gentler, brighter side of her. She treasured every moment she shared with them, and the love she held for them was unmistakable. Nothing meant more to her than the pride and affection she felt for her grandchildren.
Lana’s life held both struggles and strengths, but she remains an irreplaceable part of our story. We carry with us her moments of tenderness, her laughter, and the understanding that every person is more than their best or worst day. She helped shape who we are, and her memory will continue to guide us with humility, grace, and compassion.
She is survived by her son, Jeff Arrowood of China; her daughters, Jennifer (Shane) Stanley of Virginia and Donna Schronce of Kings Mountain, NC; her beloved grandchildren, Aaron Good, Dylan (Veronica) White, Alyssa Roach, Ryan Roach, Trevor Schronce, and Dalton Schronce; and her great-grandchild, Aurelia Varela-White.
We release her now with love, carrying forward the lessons she taught us and the memories that time can never take away. “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest”(Matthew 11:28). May she find rest in God’s presence, and may we find comfort and peace in remembering her life and her love.
The family would like to send a special “thank you” to the team with Via Hospice, who helped provide her and the family with care and love while she was at home.
Memorial services will be held on Sunday, January 4 at 2:30 PM at Anew Beginning Baptist Church, 145 Battleground Dr. Blacksburg, SC 29702, with Rev. Doug Ramsey officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 2:30 PM.
The Ramsey Family have entrusted arrangements to Roseboro's Mortuary & Crematory.
