Klaus Hesse Obituary

CHARLOTTE, NORTH CAROLINA

December 31, 1950 - February 10, 2025

Klaus Paul Hesse, 74 passed away Monday, February 10, 2025.

Klaus Paul Hesse passed peacefully on 2/10/2025 in Charlotte NC, at the Levine & Dickson Hospice House at Southminister.

He is survived by his wife Doris P. Hesse; children, Stephanie Robertson (William “Robbie”), Stephan Hesse, Christopher Larkin, and Joshua Larkin; grandchildren, William Robertson, Charles Robertson, Annya Hesse and Théo Larkin; Parents, Heinrich Friedrich Paul Hesse & Wilhelmine Kathe Baumgart. Sister Renate Foltyn (Hans Foltyn), godson Michael Foltyn, niece Simone Foltyn (Jupp), and nephews Junes and Jacob; brother-in-law Tony Pennington; nieces and nephews Toni Howell (B.J.), Hope and Melody Howell.

Klaus was born in Germany on 12/31/1950.

After high school, he went into the Airforce for 2 years where he developed a passion for flying. After the Airforce, Klaus entered an apprenticeship with Danzas Gmbh. (now DHL). He was transferred to the Danzas Delegation Office, Charlotte NC, in 1978, where he opened 3 offices: Spartanburg SC, Richmond VA and Norfolk VA.

In 1992 Klaus and Doris opened ITE Ltd. (International Transportation Experts) Ltd.

Klaus later pursued his passion for flying by taking lessons. He enjoyed flying, traveling, & everything SOCCER, ping pong, cards, barbecue & beer, country music, oldies and gospel music, and German TV.

Klaus was a man of many talents and accomplishments and enjoyed hobbies.  He loved working with his trusty German tools. He despised inches vs centimeters for any projects, especially flooring.

He loved animals, which was a good thing considering Josh was prone to bringing home stray cats.

His family and friends were important to him at home and abroad. Especially, his beloved Schwesterline (sister) Renate. The overwhelming number of responses to Klaus passing speaks for itself.

Our life was unique with blended families. Always during good times and hard times he was our rock.

His presence will be deeply missed.

The family wishes to give special honor to:
