MOORESVILLE, NORTH CAROLINA
January 13, 1941 – June 23, 2025
Kenneth Lee Heavlin, 84, of Mooresville, NC, and formerly of Boone, passed away peacefully on June 23, 2025.
Ken was a devoted husband, loving father, proud grandfather, and expert auto mechanic whose life was marked by hard work, quiet strength, and a deep love for his family. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 53 years, Cindy Heavlin; his parents, Kenneth Carl Heavlin and Jean R. Heavlin; and his sister, Helen Faith Dennis.
He is survived by his three daughters: Leigh Miller and husband Stacey, Lorie Cone and husband Brian, and Jeanne Davis-Strode and husband Taylor. Ken cherished his six grandchildren: Gracie Cone, Owen Cone, Lizzie Miller, Holden Davis, Dylan Davis, and Hayden Davis-Strode, and delighted in spending time with each of them. He is also survived by his sisters, Judy Palmer of Florida and Kathy Heavlin of Georgia, and by longtime family friend, Sue Glenn of Blowing Rock.
Ken’s passions included attending races, working on and improving his cars, and treasured family trips to the Outer Banks. A true “car guy,” his mechanical talents were unmatched, and his hands-on knowledge was admired by many.
In keeping with Ken’s wishes, no formal service will be held. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in his memory to the S. Mitchell Mack Hospice House of Mooresville, whose exceptional care and compassion meant so much during his final days.
He will be remembered for his unwavering love for family, his quiet resilience, and a life well lived.
The Heavlin Family have entrusted arrangements to Roseboro's Mortuary & Crematory.
