CHARLOTTE, NORTH CAROLINA
January 1, 1973 - April 19, 2025
Janine Laura Harris McIntosh, a devoted wife, loving mother, cherished sister, and faithful servant of Jehovah, passed away on April 19, 2025, at Atrium Health Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, North Carolina. She was 52 years old.
Born on January 1, 1973, in Islip, New York, Janine was the beloved daughter of Laura Betty Meredith and the late Rowland Sylvester Harris. She grew up in Sumter, South Carolina, graduating from Furman High School, and later was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses in 1998. Her strong faith in the resurrection hope shaped her life and served as a guiding principle for her family and loved ones.
Janine's deep love for children led her to her true calling as a private childcare provider, affectionately known as "Nana" to the children she cared for. Her kindness and nurturing spirit brought comfort and joy to those fortunate enough to know her. She also excelled in the medical field, where she worked as a coder and administrative assistant/office manager, showcasing her dedication and meticulous attention to detail.
Janine treasured spending time with her family, creating precious memories and bonds that will endure. She leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and selflessness that will forever be cherished.
Janine is survived by her devoted husband, Kenneth Sylvester McIntosh; her beloved son, William Chandler McIntosh; her sisters Lenise (Michael) Parrott and Michele (Joe) Parrott; her brother Richard (Lateasha) Harris; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She is preceded in death by her father, Rowland Sylvester Harris; her brother, Rowland Pernell Harris; her sister, Sherry Ann Moten; her nephews, Ravon Lamar Harris and Taariq Parham; and her grandmothers, Audrey Hosten and Rose Turner.
Her radiant spirit, warm heart, and steadfast devotion to those she loved will remain with us always. Janine Laura McIntosh—wife, mother, sister, and friend—will be greatly missed and forever remembered.
A wake will be held on Sunday, April 27, 2025 from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM at Roseboro's Mortuary & Crematory, 4300 Statesville Rd. Charlotte, NC 28269.
A service will be held to honor Janine on Monday, April 28, 2025 at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, East Congregation, 5200 Rocky River Rd, Concord, NC 28025.
Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM and Funeral Service will start at 11:00 AM.
Interment will be held at Hillside Memorial Park in Sumter, SC.
