Elder Hill grew up in Alabama and relocated to New York at the age of 12, where he formed lifelong friendships and graduated from Binghamton North High School in 1979. During his youth, he developed a passion for sports and karate. Known for his signature “mamajama back kick,” he competed in tournaments and proudly earned several trophies.
Around 1982, Elder Hill moved to Charlotte, North Carolina, where his life took a divine turn. He laid down his passion for karate and discovered an even greater calling—becoming a devoted pursuer of God. It is believed God knew He could use him for the upbuilding of His Kingdom. Anyone who encountered Elder Hill was sure to receive a word from God. Many lives were impacted by this man of God. Though deeply concerned about souls, he also had a joyful and natural side, known for his humor, side remarks, and ability to bring laughter into any room.
Professionally, Elder Hill concluded his working career with the City of Charlotte Water, where he served faithfully as a Locator. He took pride in his work and was known as dependable and diligent.
Outside of ministry and work, Elder Hill enjoyed a wide range of interests. He had a deep passion for chess, collecting African and Oriental art, and watching action movies. He especially loved classic western television shows such as Shotgun Slade and Gunsmoke, which brought him great enjoyment.
