Betty Mullins, 85, passed on Tuesday, April 28, 2026.
Betty Woodward Mullins passed away peacefully at her residence during the early morning hours of Tuesday, April 28, 2026. Born Betty Eller Woodward on May 13, 1940, in Belmont, North Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Charlie Guydo “Dutch” Woodward and Zelma Elizabeth Brewer Woodward. Betty served as the matriarch of five generations, as was her mother before her.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her child sister Shirley Woodward; sister JoAnn Marlowe; son Clarence “Leroy” Loftin III; granddaughter Shanna Mullins; great-great-granddaughter Halo Faith Russell; her nieces May and Kay, baby nephew Howard, and great-niece Kimberly.
She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Charles Maynard Mullins; daughters Karen Carter and Cynthia Young; son Jeffrey Michael; grandson Travis Cope; great-granddaughter Kayla Russell (Mullins) and husband Daniel Russell; great-great-grandsons Preston and Royce Russell; along with great nieces Holly and Ashley, great nephews Justin and Joey, several other nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, and great-great-nieces and nephews, as well as brothers and sisters-in-law and extended family whom she loved.
She was known for her generous spirit and is remembered for her deep love of flowers, hummingbirds, and her family, unconditionally.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday May 9, 2026~1:00 PM at the fellowship building of Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, located at 206 Louise Ave, Belmont, NC 28012
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in her memory. Contributions may be given at the Celebration of Life or arranged for mailing through her great-granddaughter, Kayla.
